Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 24, 2026
Overview
VoiceLM is designed with privacy as a core principle. All audio processing happens locally on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store your audio files or transcription results.
Data We Do Not Collect
- Audio recordings or files you transcribe
- Transcription results or text output
- Contents of your documents or folders
- Microphone input during live recording
Data We May Collect
We use Apphud for subscription management. Apphud may collect:
- Anonymous device identifier
- Subscription status and purchase history (via Apple)
- App version and OS version
This data is used solely to manage your subscription and is handled in accordance with Apphud's Privacy Policy.
On-Device Processing
VoiceLM uses OpenAI's Whisper model running entirely on your device via Apple's CoreML and Metal frameworks. No audio data is sent to any server. The AI models are downloaded once and stored locally.
AI Text Processing (Optional)
If you choose to use the AI text processing features (summarization, translation, etc.), your transcription text may be sent to the LLM provider you configure (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or a local LM Studio server). This is entirely optional and requires your explicit action. We do not store or process this data ourselves.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud features through macOS, your transcription data may sync via your personal iCloud account. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store — for app distribution and payments
- Apphud — for subscription management
- Hugging Face — for downloading AI models (one-time download)
Children's Privacy
VoiceLM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
